A family outing to the golf club in the snowplough peugeot 106. It is a cold winters day and the snow has covered the roads and roundabouts allowing the driver freedom to skid and slide where ever he pleases, including into road signs and dogs! Arriving at our destination it is clear that today no golf will take place at hole 18, instead a hoard of children, teenagers and adults are hurtling down the hill on wooden/plastic sledges….Enter the MiddleRoss Family or should I say the Swiss Family Robinson!!! Me holding a washing basket and a small sheet of ply board, Ed with two cardboard boxes, Natalie with the lid of a Mc Vities biscuit tin and Duncan with nothing!
It was clear from the outset that Ed and Duncan where going to be babies! SO the men of the Family Ben and Natalie proceed to throw themselves down the side of the hill…Mode of transport the small sheet of ply board. Following our first flight down the hill we rush to get back to the top, unfortunately getting to the top is not that easy….here follows an excerpt from bambi…Natalie falls…Ben falls…Natalie holds Bens arm for support…Ben falls again!!!
The Days climax took place on a large sheet of thick plastic! Four passengers (Natalie and I and two new play mates who are sipping a bottle of jack Daniels) take their seats at the highest point of the hill…tipping over the edge the sheet of plastic plummets down the hill, faster and faster, heading straight for a small ramp made of snow!
“Natalie are you ok?”
“owchhh”
Heading back to the snowplough with wet bums and sore bones, the light is fading around us. the snow is like a blanket over the land, decorating the trees in little puffs of clouds, snow falling lightly around us. Natalie takes out her camera and snaps away….perfect for our new painting!
Here we are Sunday 10th 2010, we have started the outlines of our new “tree” picture, its going to be just lovely hanging in our living room, opposite our “Autumn Tree”…just lovely!!! Camenbert and crackers….over and out!
Oh and this week the blind half of SeedSew (Me) purchased some glasses!
bye for now…
